Sales Assistant / Store Person – Agricultural Store

The Role

We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused Sales Assistant / Store Person to join our team in Goresbridge.

The successful candidate will play an important role in providing an excellent customer experience, maintaining stock availability and ensuring the store and surrounding areas are maintained to a high standard. The ideal candidate will have an interest in agriculture, strong customer service skills and previous experience in a retail, sales or stores environment is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, efficient and knowledgeable customer service.
• Assist customers with product selection and provide advice on agricultural products where appropriate.
• Ensure sufficient stock is available to meet customer requirements.
• Receive, organise and replenish stock and maintain accurate stock control.
• Maintain shelves, displays, storage areas and the wider store to a high standard.
• Operate the till and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with the loading, unloading and movement of goods as required.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Use basic computer systems to support stock control and general store activities.
• Keep up to date with agricultural products, customer needs and industry developments.
• Support colleagues in maintaining an excellent overall shopping experience.
• Ensure site security and company standards are maintained at all times.
• Carry out other reasonable duties and tasks as required by the company.

Requirements

• An interest in agriculture, farming or livestock care; knowledge of agricultural products is an advantage.
• Previous retail, sales, customer service or stores experience is desirable.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physically fit and comfortable lifting and moving heavy items when required.
• A positive, proactive and reliable attitude.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service, safety and site presentation.
• Forklift experience is desirable but training can be provided.
