Gunstore Retail Assistant

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, reliable, and customer-focused Gunstore Retail Assistant to join our team. This role is central to delivering a safe, professional, and welcoming shopping experience for all customers. The successful candidate will be approachable, adaptable, and confident working in a team-oriented retail environment where attention to detail and security awareness are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming store environment
  • Respond to customer enquiries and provide accurate product information
  • Locate and present requested items efficiently
  • Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
  • Maintain organisation, cleanliness, and stock control in the stock room
  • Ensure shelves and displays are neat, well-stocked, and visually appealing
  • Escalate customer concerns or complex issues to the Gunstore Lead or Retail Manager when required
  • Maintain a high level of security awareness at all times, following store policies and procedures
  • Participate in stocktakes
  • Support other departments, including assisting in the café, as needed

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong interest in outdoor pursuits
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional, and approachable manner
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Confidence in handling challenging customer interactions professionally
  • Flexible and reliable
  • High level of attention to detail, particularly regarding security and stock handling
  • Forklift driving experience desirable
  • Previous retail experience is an advantage but not essential — full training will be provided
